Fernando de Nijs:
Award-Winning Private Violin and Viola Instructor
Fernando de Nijs has built his successful music career mainly in Europe, focusing on Violin and Viola performance after studying at the Sweelinck Conservatory of Amsterdam. He achieved remarkable recognition as a First Prize Winner with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
During his academic years, Mr de Nijs held a crucial position as the principal violist for the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands. Moreover, he performed as a member of the European Community Youth Orchestra (ECYO) for two years and served as the principal violist of the World Youth Orchestra.
After completing his studies, Mr de Nijs was appointed as a permanent replacement with the prestigious Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam for two years. Later, he became the associate principal violist of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestra in Belgium and was also selected as a member of the Chamber Players of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the same year.
Mr de Nijs has taught music in various countries, including the Netherlands, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Currently, he is teaching at Berkshire Maestros in Reading, Surrey Arts in Guildford, and LVS Ascot.
